Oracle Learning Cloud (OLC) Implementation

City Union Bank Ltd (CUB) is one of the leading scheduled commercial banks in the private sector with major presence in urban, semi-urban and rural centres in South India. The bank has its headquarters at Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. The Bank operates in four segments namely treasury, retail banking, corporate banking, and other banking operations. CUB has 700 branches across the country with over 5,500 employees.

Business Needs

The bank was using Ramco ERP for its HR operations.

However, as part of a major technological and process transformation strategy, the bank wanted to implement an E-Learning solution. As part of this transformation plan, CUB chose the powerful Oracle Learning Cloud (OLC) application, part of Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) suite.

The key purpose of this implementation was to manage learning at the designated learning centres for different streams including induction, probation, and such others.

ennVee Solution: Oracle Learning Cloud Implementation

ennVee had an extensive requirements study done. This discovery and design process involved understanding of concerns with the existing learning process and expectations from the OLC application. Below mentioned features were enabled as a solution offered to City Union Bank.

Learning Administration Set-up: Defined users, user groups, OLM roles, permission sets, administrator groups, creating criteria for courses.

Course Set-up: Defined courses, delivery modes, catalog categories holding offerings, activities and loading content provision.

Course enrollment: Learning paths set up to group courses into a meaningful sequence for monitoring performance and planning careers. Enabled enrolment/assignment feature with notifications, tracking enrollment statuses, permissions, and approvals.

Assessments and Evaluation: Assessment forms and questionnaire were created to be then added to the respective learning activity. Evaluation forms were created to capture learner’s feedback on the course offering they completed.

Learning history: Tracking employee learning history, metrics, analytics & reports. Excel interface for employee learning history & metrics data. Enabled uploads and updates of learning histories and metrics in the bank’s Oracle Learning Cloud.

Learning on Mobile: Mobile enabled notifications, pursuing learning programs and tracking learning items on mobile.

Application Integration:  The existing HR application was integrated with Oracle Learning Cloud to enable movement of core HR data from their software to OLC and employee’s learning history & metrics from OLC to the HR software.

Customization: Additionally, functionality gaps were identified and handled by making suitable changes to underlying processes at CUB by making customizations.

This was a vanilla implementation and ennVee successfully implemented the solution in a phased manner. The business metrics and associated targets were set based on critical business needs and became the guiding principles for all decisions made during implementation planning and execution.

Business Outcomes

With Oracle Learning Cloud implementation, CUB has set up an intelligent learning platform to empower its employees with skill building opportunities to compete successfully.

The process changes delivered by ennVee has helped users with improved information management, better and more efficient communications, and enhanced support. Oracle Learning Cloud has streamlined their learning initiatives by offering benefits ranging from catalog and online class management to smooth learner enrolments and guiding learning paths.
