TATA Power SED, a strategic engineering and defence equipment manufacturing organization, part of the renowned TATA group in India.The Tata Power Company Limited through its Strategic Engineering Division (Tata Power SED) has been a leading private-sector player in the indigenous Design, Development, Production, Integration, Supply and Life-cycle Support of mission critical Defence Systems of Strategic importance. 

Business Needs

TATA Power SED in India, was looking for a fool proof solution to handle various activities pertaining to their Vendor Management, Procurement and Quality. Since they are in association with the defence organization of India, they needed a solution to tighten their procurement and vendor management process.

As an Integrated solution, KProcure, formed a single common Platform for both the TATA inhouse team and external Suppliers. TATA Inhouse team comprises of various stake holders  as listed below and all their process  as above-mentioned were synchronized and orchestrated in this single platform.

Business Outcomes

With the implementation of KProcure, TPS was able to fasten up their end-to-end procurement process by 2-fold and the communication between all the key stakeholders became instantaneous. This  allows  TPS  to make quick decisions on supplier shortlisting and gives space to maintain all  the reference materials online for future reference and audit purpose. 

This platform allows TPS to consistently audit and assess the performance of their existing Suppliers and hence can maintain the Supplier rating and performance score card properly. This platform has enabled TPS to cut short the original time taken to onboard any new Supplier by half and has facilitated the approval process to happen online as well. 

With the support of KProcure, TPS has no more complaints on missing notifications due to the maintenance of complete notification history in the system and right set of auto-generated Alerts to keep the stakeholders up-to date on due dates for various activities. 

Introduction of this Platform enabled TPS to eliminate heavy manual dependencies, poor document maintenance, missing timely communication and delay in decision process flows and helped them to improve the overall performance of the Procurement and Supplier Handling team.
